Zulfah Albertyn

Zulfah Albertyn is currently a Masters student at the Hatter Institute for Cardiovascular Research in Africa and will be joining Prof K. Sliwa-Hahnle as her PhD student.

Zulfah studied a BSc degree in Physiology and Genetics, a BSc (MED)(HONS) degree in physiology and a MSc(MED) degree in Medicine at the University of Cape Town. She joined the HEDUAfrica team in 2012, where she contributed to the testing of the HEDUZA platform at Groote Schuur maternity ward.

Her interests are to discover innovative cost-effect tools to attenuate maternal mortality, as well as child mortality in developing nations, and to create awareness about the health issues facing South Africa, especially communities which fall under the low-income bracket.
