Watch your sugar levels before and during pregnancy
Did you know that you might have diabetes before you fall pregnant or you could become diabetic during your pregnancy? Visit your clinic to check your sugar levels.
What does this mean?
It is important to be healthy before and during pregnancy, so that diabetes does not harm you or your baby.
What should I do?
Eat lots of healthy foods: fruit, vegetables, meat that is not fatty and wholewheat bread. Avoid junk food like chips, fizzy drinks, chocolate, sweets, cake, biscuits, take aways etc.
Make sure you do some gentle exercise while you are pregnant.
Why must I exercise?
Exercise is very important while you are pregnant, but if you do the wrong kind of exercise it could hurt you and your baby. Ask the sister or doctor at the clinic for guidance on suitable exercises.
