Diabetes (sugar disease) causes high levels of sugar (glucose) in your blood.

What does this mean?

Being overweight can cause this to happen. You can help prevent gestational diabetes by maintaining/having a healthy weight before you become pregnant.

What should I do?

Plan your pregnancy and visit your clinic regularly while you are pregnant.
